International Youth Project "Movement is Happiness" Promotes Active Lifestyle and Cultural Exchange
Participants from Six European Countries Gather in Prague to Promote Sports and Unity
Prague, Czechia, August 29, 2022 - The international youth project "Movement is Happiness" brought together 49 enthusiastic participants from Latvia-Latvian Association for Youth Activists, Romania-Centrul Pentru Tineret Mileniu, Portugal, Turkey-Zift Hayat Boyu Ögrenme ve Egitim Dernegi, Poland-Stowarzyszenie Projektow Miedzynarodowych "Logos Polska", and Czechia-HEALTHY LIFE SPORT CENTRE in the beautiful city of Prague from August 22 to 28, 2022. This initiative aimed to inspire a love for physical activity, foster cultural exchange, and raise awareness about the importance of sports in daily life.
The project encompassed a wide range of activities designed to engage and educate participants.
These activities included:
1. Introduction Activity: This icebreaker session helped participants integrate and adapt to the project more easily.
2. Orientation: Participants got acquainted with the project's location and surroundings.
3. Youthpass Training: The importance of the Youthpass Certificate was emphasized, and participants learned how to complete it.
4. Education Course: Informative sessions about Erasmus+ programs and opportunities for young people.
5. Seminar, History: Participants delved into the history of ancient Greek sports and Olympics, highlighting the significance of physical activity.
6. Walking and Relaxing: Encouraging the habit of physical activity, participants took a scenic walk and reflected on the experience.
7. Dodgeball: A fun dodgeball game aimed at breaking inactivity and promoting an active lifestyle.
8. Political Perspective Multi-centred Approach Study: Participants shared policies from their respective countries to encourage sports engagement.
10. Hanging Ideas - Daily Evaluation: Reflecting on daily activities and their benefits, participants provided valuable feedback.
11. Promotion of Sports: Teams crafted advertising texts for physical activities, and the winning text was turned into a captivating video.
12. Cultural Night: Participants showcased their countries' culture and sports, fostering mutual understanding.
13. City Tour Activity: Exploring the historical and natural beauty of Prague.
14. Youthpass Self-Assessment: Participants individually filled their Youthpass Certificates based on their gained knowledge.
The project's diverse participants, aged 13 to 40, came from various backgrounds, had varying levels of experience in youth work, spoke English, and were eager to develop personally and professionally. This diverse mix included individuals who both did and did not regularly engage in sports and even those with limitations who were passionate about social responsibility projects. Equal opportunities were a key focus, aligning with the Erasmus Plus project's goals and priorities.
The "Movement is Happiness" project achieved several significant objectives:
Promoting "Sports for Life": The project contributed to making the principle of "sports for life" visible in society.
Raising Awareness: Participants worked to raise awareness about the importance of regular physical activity, particularly among young people.
Encouraging Local Engagement: The project encouraged local communities to understand the significance of sports activities.
Addressing Changing World Order: Participants shared statistics on the declining daily activity rate due to global changes.
Supporting Studies: The project raised awareness about the need to support research on integrating sports into daily life.
Promoting Healthy Lifestyles: By advocating for physical activities, the project aimed to increase awareness of a healthy lifestyle.
Fostering Expression: Young people were given a platform to express their thoughts about sports and global issues.
Promoting Respect and Tolerance: The project emphasized the importance of respectful and tolerant attitudes over prejudice and discrimination.
Gender Equality and Equal Opportunity: It highlighted the need to support gender equality and equal opportunity.
Erasmus+ Program Promotion: Encouraging participation in the Erasmus+ program and increasing its recognition among young people.
Enhancing Creativity: Participants were empowered to boost their creativity and individual competencies.
Each participating organization had a unique mission, from social media sharing to sustainability studies, language support and communication, quality management, dissemination works, and content preparation.
The "Movement is Happiness" project proved to be an enriching experience that promoted physical activity, cultural exchange, and personal development among young individuals from diverse backgrounds. This initiative exemplifies the positive impact that international cooperation can have on inspiring healthier, more active lives and fostering understanding among nations.
